Drum8
Drum8 is a free drum plugin (sample-based ROMpler) for DAWs and other plugin host software running on Windows and macOS.
Drum8 is a collaboration between audiolatry (software development) and Cool WAV (sound design). It features a total of 40 kits for various music genres: Hip Hop, Trap, Pop, Lo-fi, EDM, etc. There are 320 sounds in total, including kicks, snares, claps, toms, hi-hats (closed & open), percussion, cymbals, fx, and more.
The plugin sports a compact and easy-to-use interface with global controls (gain, lowpass filter, room reverb), individual controls per sample (gain, attack, pan, stereo channel output), and an 8-pad configuration. The samples are conveniently mapped from C1 to G1.
As mentioned above, all the samples were designed by our friends at Cool WAV. Most of them were made with 2 hardware analog drum machines ran through Radial JDI direct box, Warm Audio ToneBeast Black, and Antelope Audio Discrete 4 Synergy Core audio interface. For the acoustic drum kits, they used drum modeling software and a mass amount of effect plugins.
Drum8 is available as a VST/VST3 plugin for Windows and VST/VST3/AU plugin for macOS (El Capitan to Mojave, NOT compatible with Catalina and up).

I downloaded Drum8 and ran it on my Mac in Logic Pro 10.6.3. The plugin validates and the GUI loads but as soon as I press one of the pads on the GUI, Logic crashes. I could send you a crash log if that would help?
Hi, thank you for the feedback. Can you please tell us what version of Mac are you using?
I’m on MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina, Intel).
Sadly is not compatible with Catalina… (El Capitan to Mojave, NOT compatible with Catalina and up). It is a limitation of the software we use to create these plugins. Hopefully, in the near future, we will be able to make them work in newer macOS versions.
Thanks for responding. I see it now in your system requirements section. I didn’t look there before.
Same problem on MacOS 10.14.6 (Mojave)…I can use funkBASS and RETROVIBES, but I can’t do Drum8. Do I have to give up?
Hello! I’m delighted to report that I have just downloaded Drum8 and am running it on a Mac Mini M1 with macOS 12.1 Monterey. The plugin is presumably using Rosetta but is doing so alongside all my M1 build plugins via the magic of Bitwig 😉
Wow, fantastic news! Can you please explain how you did it, so I can add it to the plugin description, maybe will help others?
I found the same thing with my Macbook Air M1. DIdn’t need to do anything other than put the .component file into the OSX AU directory. It works with Apple’s AU lab, so it should work anywhere.
Thank you Tom for clarification. All the best!
Vry nyc plugin
this was just tested on my Mac book with Catalina and the 1st version does work
Super! Can you please give me more info? For example what DAW? Mac Intel?
Compitable with cubase 5?
Didn’t test it with Cubase 5. You can download it and tell us if is compatible, thank you.
Hey, thank you so much for providing this plugin. I’m gonna give it a try and get back to you on this. Just for your info the download link did not work on “click”, but I had to right click and open in new tab for it to go to gumroad and provide access.
Thank you for your feedback! Do you still have problems with downloading? (all is going well by our side).
Hello
Hey yo!
Thank you
Thank you too 🙂
It’s A beast, thanks.
Thank you too!
Hi, thank you for this wonderfull Drum8 rompler. Can i also purchase the groovy MIDI-patterns you used in your Drum8-demo? That would be great!
Hey Nick! Thank you for your kind words.
I am glad you asked 🙂 I added the MIDI files as a free download here on the product page (look under the black FREE DOWNLOAD button). They were created by us, are totally free, you can do whatever you want with them. Have a great week!
Regards,
Stephen
My Mac OS is 10.14.6 Mojave, but I couldn’t use this plugin, so I just uninstalled it. Please let me know if anyone can use this plugin on the same OS. If I have a problem with my Mac, I’ll try to initialize and rebuild it.

Just downloaded this and the wording in the browser is not in English. How can I Shane this please?
Sorry, change this please,
I have a problem. If I create a pattern with Drum8, then I close the project and when I re-open it the kick has become silent. This also happens if I export the pattern, the exported audio file has no kick. Why is this happening?
(I’m using FL Studio 20)
